Bali’s Mount Agung Update

Mount Agung recently erupted but Nusa Dua remains safe for travelers

January 12, 2018

On January 11, 2018 at 17:45 local time, Mount Agung erupted and the ash cloud moves towards north and northeast of Bali. The aviation code remains orange and Ngurah Rai International Airport remains open. No activities are permitted within 6 kms (3.7 miles) exclusion zone.

Grand Hyatt Bali is located 80 kms (50 miles) away from the mountain. Most tourist attractions in Bali (Uluwatu, Seminyak, Sanur, Ubud, etc) are located far from the mountain and it is still considered safe to travel around Bali outside the 6 km exclusion zone. As of now, our pools, garden, beach remain unaffected from the ash cloud.

We recommend our guests to remain vigilant and keep themselves updated through reliable information source such as Bali Tourism Board website which issues official statement for travelers and travel agents, or keep close contact with your airlines.

The hotel remains open and safety and comfort of our guests is our biggest priority. Those with loved ones currently staying or working at Grand Hyatt Bali can contact +62 361 77 1188 or for inquiries. Guests with future bookings at Grand Hyatt can contact regarding their reservation.
